Rose Irene Bostow , 93, Minot and former longtime Benedict resident died on Thursday, July 13, 2006, in a Garrison nursing home.
Rose was born on March 31, 1913, on a farm near Max, ND, to John and Catherine Strilcov. She was raised on the farm and graduated from Max High School. Rose married Luke Bostow on June 14, 1933, in Minot. They made their home in Benedict and Rose assisted her husband with the operation of the International Harvester implement dealership for many years until they retired in 1983. They moved to Minot in 1978 and had resided at 1731 4th St. S.E. for many years. Luke died on January 5, 2000. Rose had been a resident of the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison since 1998.
Rose was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene - Minot and a former member of the Nazarene Church in Benedict. She was a former member of the WCTU, Gideons, McWard Homemakers and Hobby Club. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, gardening and baking. It was amazing how she always had fresh baked cookies available for visitors!
Rose is survived by her children: Twila (Orwin) Olson of Ruso and Nathan Bostow of Garrison; Grandchildren: Stynette (David) Watson, Reeon Olson, Stacey (Chris Rigney) Olson, Nicole (Carey Gieser) Folden, Amber Olson, Vince (Heather) Bostow; Great Grandchildren: Derek Goldade, Nicholas, Zachary, Sedona and Sterling Watson; Alexis and Ciera Martin, Chance and Alexander Schoenberg, Nevaeh Olson and Skyla Folden and Dawson Bostow and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Antonia and brothers: Gust, Nick, George, Max, Victor and Fred Strilcov.
Funeral Service
: Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene - Minot.
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot
Visitation:
Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials:
Memorials are preferred to Western North Dakota Alzheimer's Association.
