Obituary

Ronald Eugene 'Snuffy' Parizek, 66, Minot passed Friday, November, 23, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ronald was born in Minot, ND on August 14, 1952 to Ramon and Mary (Bond) Parizek. He was raised and educated in Minot schools graduating from Minot High School. Later, He made the family farm in Deering, ND his home.

At an early age Snuffy learned to be a master butcher, which started his famous pig roasts, held every year on his birthday. Which, I am pretty sure everyone in ND has attended at least one of. In Snuffy's younger years he was a lead singer in a band and also became an amazing dancer.

He was a Diamond in the rough, a perfectionist at anything he did. He had a personality of a charmer and always made everyone he met smile and laugh. People gravitated to his love of life and endless energy.

Snuffy enjoyed knitting and he knitted many items, including a quilt for a Boston Marathon runner who was injured in the horrific marathon bombing. He also knitted numerous pairs of baby booties which he donated to new born babies in Minot and Cancer Care Center patients.  One of his other talents was bead work. He made many intricate "dream catchers" made of beads as well as the traditional way. His most beautiful bead work was in making earrings and necklaces. All his bead work was gifts to many who needed them. He was an avid fisherman, and encouraged others to join him that needed a bit of Snuffy time. Snuffy shared his chainsaw artistry with the many visitors to our local Van Hook Resort on Lake Sakakawea, as he carved the name "Van Hook Resort" in two trees at the resort entrance for all to see.

He will be truly missed by his family; Pamela Howery, daughters; Allison Girard and Eden Howery, son and daughter, Ronald Parizek, Jr. and Rachel Parizek, both of Mandan, ND, grandchildren; Axl and Kaden Green and Shai Lyn Parizek, brothers; Steven and Darrow Parizek, sisters; Marcelle Parizek and Vaneica Erickson, aunt and uncle, Bill and Helen Dennis, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, a special caregiver; Pam Morris and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother; Bob Parizek.

A Memorial Mass will be held 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
All visitation will be held at the Church one hour before the service.
