Ronald D. Rodgers Sr., 81, Kenmare, ND formerly of Louisiana, died Saturday, June 5, 2021, in a Minot hospital surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

Ronald was born October 30, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana to Millner B. and Gladys Thelma (Keeper) Rodgers. He grew up and received his education in Plain Dealing, LA and graduated from Plain Dealing High School in 1957.

Ronald followed in his father's footsteps as a second generation owner/operator truckdriver.  His career would shape the next fifty years of his life. He was awarded many safety awards during his career for his excellence as a driver.

Ronald was once united in marriage to Elaine Harvey. They made their home in Louisiana and Colorado, where they raised their family. He moved with his son Ronald Dale Rodgers Jr. in 2010 to Kenmare, ND.

Ronald enjoyed the outdoors during his active years.  Yoyo fishing, squirrel hunting down south along with many deer and elk were taken during his years as an outdoorsman in Colorado. He will be missed deeply by all who shared in his life.

Ronald is survived by his children Ronald Dale Rodgers Jr. with Michelle Hughes, Teresa Rodgers and Suzanne Shipp; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many cousins.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and stepson William Waters 'Bubba.'

Celebration of Ronald Rodgers Sr will be held on at a date to be determined.
