IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald
Preskey
November 25, 1932 – February 4, 2019
Ronald Marean Preskey, 86, Minot and formerly of rural Glenburn died on Monday, February 4, 2019 in a Minot assisted living facility.
Ronald Preskey was born on November 25, 1932 in Minot, ND to Leo and Neva (Marean) Preskey. He was raised in rural Glenburn and educated at Glenburn High School. He graduated with honors as valedictorian in 1950. His Mother, Neva (1924), himself (1950), his son Mitchell (1973) and grandson Cory (1996) were the first four generation family to graduate from Glenburn High School. Ronald remained a strong Panther fan and supporter. He was on the committee and championed the community for a new high school in the early 60's.
He was inducted into the United Sates Army at Mohall, ND on January 5, 1955. He was raised to the rank of SP3 and honorably discharged on December 20, 1956. He returned to the family farm after his discharge.
Ronald married Evelyn Souther on October 3, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenburn. Evelyn passed away December 15, 2018. They made their home on the Preskey family homestead where they raised their four children. Farming was Ronald's passion and his life! The farm is currently registered now as a Centennial farm in Renville County. He was proud to say the sixth generation of Preskeys now reside on the homestead farm. Ronald enjoyed spending many summer days with family and friends at Lake Metigoshe.
Ronald and Evelyn moved to Minot in April of 2011, most recently at Edgewood Vista.
Ronald was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ronald also served on the Farmers Union Elevator Board in Minot for many years.
Ronald's hobbies and special interests included; the farm and all that it entailed, his Wednesday night poker game, a good game of pool, pinochle and whist card parties and baseball. He enjoyed his daily breakfast stop at the Glenburn restaurant and the morning "talk" of the day. His grandchildren's activities were also an enjoyment.
