Ronald L. Chiles , 85, Minot, died, Sunday, February 9, 2025 in a Minot Nursing Care Center.

Ron was born March 13, 1939 in California, the son of Harry and Wilmuth (Forrester) Chiles. He was raised and educated in California and continued his college years there at Redlands University in Redlands, CA.

Ron entered active-duty service with the USAF and honorably served his country from 1962 until 1984. He was united in marriage to Judy Myers in August of 1966 in Ft Worth, TX. They traveled the country following Ron's career at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, Vandenberg AFB in California and then Minot AFB. From this union, two sons were born, Jeff and Chris.

Ron retired from the Minot Air Force Base in 1984 and remained active in civil service work at the base. He had also been active in Minot with the Heritage Singers. Judy died on June 25, 2022. Ron had most recently been a resident of the Minot Lodge.

His loving family includes, sons, Jeff (Missy) Chiles, Gilbert, AZ; Chris (Stephanie Yates) Chiles, Juneau, AK; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy and a sister, Carolyn Nelson.

At his request, there will not be a formal service.

Interment will take place at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan later in the Spring of 2025.
