Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Allen Dahlien, 62, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Minot, passed away July 11, 2017.

Ron was born on April 7, 1955 to Donald and Lorraine (Larson) Dahlien in Minot, North Dakota. He graduated from Minot High School in 1973 where he was active in band and choir. While in high school he worked as a cook at Mr. Steak and Bonanza. He attended the Control Data Institute in Minneapolis where he specialized in computer programming and systems analysis. His career included positions with Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan, Coates & Clark in Charlotte, North Carolina, and most recently with Piedment Natural Gas Company.

Like his dad, he had an appreciation for music and enjoyed playing a number of instruments, but his greatest joy was spending time with those he loved, especially his grandsons. He was always kind and had the unique gift of a gentle spirit.

A service was held at New Hope Baptist Church in Rock Hill of which he was a member.

Special people in his life who survive him are: his wife, Tammy Edwards Dahlien; daughter, Jennifer (JR) Armstrong; grandsons, Devin and Landon; all of Rock Hill, SC; mother, Lorraine; sister, Carol Dahlien; brother, Douglas (Kathy) Dahlien; nieces, McKenzie Sivertson and Kristy (Josh) Gessner; all of Minot, ND; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; grandparents, Iver and Inga Larson and Sigfred and Edith Dahlien.
