Roger Allen Olson, 52, Minot died on May 1, 2013 at the home of his parents in Burlington.

Roger was born on July 24, 1960 in St. Joseph's Hospital Minot to Holman Burton "H.B." and Margaret (Schumacher) Olson. He was reared in Minot and attended St. Leo's Elementary School and Bishop Ryan High School. As a young adult Roger was employed as a construction worker all over the country and in the oil fields of North Dakota.

Roger married Denise Magandy in July 1993. They made their home in Minot where he was employed as a construction worker and at Scheel's Hardware as a small engine repairman. Denise died in a car accident in 1996. Most recently, Roger had been employed as a painter for Miller painting.

Roger was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church Minot and especially enjoyed the outdoors in the form of hunting, fishing and gardening.

Roger's loving family includes his parents: H.B. and Margaret Olson of Burlington; siblings: Dan (Vickie) Olson of Minot, Wilma (Ken) Buzzard of Tucson, AZ, Mary (Bennie II) Wegener of Ridgecrest, CA, Jim (Nancy) Olson of Minot and Bridget (Fred) Bly of Isanti, MN; nieces and nephews: Matt and Jenny Olson, Janelle Schultz, Cheryl Buzzard, Wendy, Amanda, and Melinda Wegener, Kimberly Stover and Bennie Wegener III, Monica Olson, and Juran and Alex Bly.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife Denise; maternal grandparents: Frank and Marie (Hoffman) Schumacher and paternal grandparents: Albert and Judith (Holman) Olson.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park Minot.
Visitation: Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
