Roger Milton Kihlstrom , our beloved dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, of Minot passed from this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 9, 2010, in a Minot hospital at the young age of 51.

Roger was born in Stanley, ND, to Milton and Erna (Moldenhaur) Kihlstrom, December 5, 1958the youngest of a large family. His father worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, eventually settling the family in Burlington, ND. Roger attended Des Lacs-Burlington High School, where he was active in drama and excelled in his classes, graduating in 1978.

While in Burlington, Roger met and was once married to Karyn Halverson. This union was blessed with four children. They raised their family in Bismarck and have continued to celebrate holidays together with their children.

Roger moved back to Burlington in 1992. He attended classes at Minot State University, graduating in 1998 with a degree in accounting, obtaining his licensure as a CPA. Always being good with numbers, he loved his work at Smitty's repair of Minot.

After a long courtship Roger was joined in marriagewith Vernida Burchettin August of 2006. Together they moved to Montana, Roger came back a few short years later.Through all their years togetherVernida became a large part of his children's lives.

Roger carried a deep love for his family. On any given day, you would hear Roger talking about how proud he was of his beautiful children and grandchildren, showing off their most recent pictures. Roger was a man that was loved by anyone and everyone that met him. Always doing anything he could to help a friend in need. He will be dearly missed, fondly remembered and forever loved by all of us.

Surviving family includes: Children: Dawn Kihlstrom, Stephanie Kihlstrom and Michelle Kihlstrom, all of Bismarck and Michael Kihlstrom, Minot, ND; Granddaughters, Trelynn Kihlstrom and Gwendalyn Lapp; Sister, Doreen Kay Kihlstrom, New Rockford, ND; Brothers, Robert Kihlstrom, Seattle, WA, Dennis Kihlstrom, New Rockford, ND and Curtis Kihlstrom, Minot Donny Davies, Stanley, ND RonnyDavies, Nebraska, Darlene Davies, Stanley, NDand numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roger was greeted on the other side by his parents, grandson, Michael Jr., sister, Nancy Gevre and brothers Bucky, Gary and Norton Davies.

Funeral service: Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Burlington, ND.
Interment: Burlington Community Cemetery, Burlington
Visitation: Friday, January 15, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: Memorials are preferred.
