Rodger Lee Bruns, 49, Minot, formerly of Makoti, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Rodger was born November 1, 1968 at Minot, North Dakota the son of Paul and Salina (Borlaug) Bruns. He was raised and educated at Makoti and graduated from Makoti High School in 1987.

Throughout much his life Rodger had lived in Minot where he was self employed with Pride Drywall and with his two brothers at Bruns Drywall. Rodger was once married to Carla Meyer.

Rodger was a baptized and a confirmed member at Hope Lutheran Church in Makoti. He loved to hunt and fish, tinker on vehicles, cook, dance and spend time at Lake Sakakawea with his girlfriend, Julie.

His loving family includes, companion, Julie Julson and her son, Nathan of Minot, children, Lucas Bruns, Kaylee Bruns, Maci Severson, Kyra Hansen all of Minot; grandchildren, Raiden, Brinley and Riot; siblings, Beverly (Don) Janz, Butte, ND, Duane (Kerry) Bruns, Minot, Mary (Jerry) Petersen, Bismarck, Carol Wurtz, Minot, Darrell (Lori) Bruns, Makoti and Lola (Finney) Meyers, Deering, ND; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Anthony.

Celebration of Life service : Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Lutheran Church, Makoti.
Interment : Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Makoti.
Visitation: Thursday, May 10th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
The family prefers memorials.
