Robert "Pop" Turneau, 66, Minot, died Monday, November 16, 2009, in a Minot hospital.

He was born June 7, 1943, in Minot, ND, the son of Raymond and Kathleen Turneau. He graduated from Minot High School and the North Dakota College of Science in Wahpeton.

Robert started employment at Reiten Television in Minot on July 1, 1963. Robert was united in marriage to Susan Selzler on August 6, 1966. They made their home in Minot. Robert worked in the engineering department for 45 years until his retirement in May 2008.

Surviving family includes: Loving wife of 43 years, Susan, Minot; Daughter, Karen (Byron) Gates, Lansford, ND; Sons, Kelly (Pamela) Turneau, Minot and Kevin Turneau, Milwaukee, WI; Grandchildren, Katie and Jacob Gates and Tyler and Anthony Turneau; Sister, Micki Hanson, Charleston, SC; Mother, Kathleen Turneau, Minot; Sister-in-law, Sonia Nocella, Ruidoso, NM; Brothers-in-law, Doug Selzler, Longmont, CO; David Selzler, Loveland, CO and Gene (Lisa) Selzler, Littleton, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Turneau.

Funeral service: Friday, November 20, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park.
Visitation: Thursday, November 19, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Roof Fund or to an organization of the donor's choice.
