Robert Yates Thomas , 60, Minot and longtime resident of Trinity Homes, died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 in a Minot nursing home.

Bob was born on April 5, 1949 in Minot, ND to Yates and Avis (Olsen) Thomas. He was reared in Minot and educated at Lincoln Elementary School and Ramstad Middle School area of Minot. He was challenged with Spina Bifida since he was born. He resided with his parents until 1982 when he became a resident of Trinity Homes. Bob was well known by residents, staff and volunteers throughout the Trinity Homes complex as the mail delivery volunteer and Chaplain Luther Hanson's assistant at Sunday morning worship services at Trinity Homes.

Bob was a member of First Lutheran Church - Minot and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. He especially enjoyed fishing and giving family and friends a "bad" time .

Bob is survived by his sister: Karen Buffington of Dickinson, ND ; nieces: Melissa (Roger) Huschka and Jessica (Scott) Schulz; great niece: Reagan Schulz and great nephews: Justin Senchak, Devon and Shane Huschka and Jackson Schulz.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral Service: Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel - Minot.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Visitation: Saturday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Homes.
