Robert "Bob" Allen Roise, 85, Minot, formerly of Berthold, died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Trinity Hospital, Minot.

Bob was born June 9, 1930 in Berthold, North Dakota, the son of Anton and Ellen (Jacobson) Roise. He was raised and educated in Berthold, except the years 1941-1946 when his family moved to and lived in California. They returned to Berthold after the war and Bob graduated from high school in 1948.

Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy DeBilt on November 21, 1948 in Berthold. Initially they made their home in Minot where Bob worked for International Harvester. Three children were born during this time. In 1955 he became a partner with his Dad, joint owners of a John Deere dealership, Roise Implement in Berthold. Three more children were born in subsequent years.

Bob sold his business in 1978 and retired in 1980. He and Dorothy spent retirement years in Arizona, North Dakota, Tennessee, and came back to Minot this past year.

Bob was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold for 25 years. All of their children were confirmed in Christ there.

He was also a member of the Berthold Lions Club and the Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and many adventures flying his airplane. He had obtained his private pilot\'s license in the mid-1960\'s, and owned a Mooney aircraft for many years. He was an instrument rated pilot.

His loving family includes his wife, Dorothy, married for 67 years; children; Roger (Voni Slind) Roise of Garrison, Douglas (Michelle) Roise, Barnesville, MN, David (Karen) Roise, Minot, Jean (Steve) Kraft, Crossville, TN and James (Diane) Roise, Bismarck, ND; 21 Grandchildren; 40 great-Grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Ellen Roise, daughter, Rhonda (Roise) Montoya and a sister, Marilyn (Roise) Stalwick.

Celebration of Life service: Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold. Interment: Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold, later in the Spring of 2016.

Visitation: Monday, December 21, 2015 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice or an organization of the donor's choice.
