Robert L. Matishek, 23, Minot, died Monday, November 15, 2010, in Minot.
Robert gained various employment opportunities in Minot over the years, but most recently was employed by Sears, Inc. as a receiving clerk. Robert had a passion for sports. He played recreational softball for a number of years in addition to faithfully following his two favorite professional teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys.
Robert was a member of the West Minot Church of God and was actively involved throughout the years in projects that showcased his talents in multimedia and a strong desire to share the word of the Lord. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life and fondly remembered by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Daniel (Audrey) Matishek, Minot, ND; mother, Brenda Mae (Bob) Perryman, Winnebago, MN; sisters, Jessica (Bryan) Guillory, Incirlik AFB, Turkey, Samantha Matishek, Kingston, OK, Faith Matishek, Minot, April (Matt) Kenney, Valdosta, GA, Sara Ertman, Granada, MN; Kim (Chris) Argiris, Mt Prospect, ILL; brother, Jason (Sarah) Conner, Duluth, GA; maternal grandmother, Doralyn Brown, Minot; step-grandparents, Ben and Yvonne Weishaar, Elgin, ND and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Brown and paternal grandparents, Lillian and Daniel Matishek Sr.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at the West Minot Church of God, Minot, ND.
Family Service: 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND
Visitation: Sunday, November 21, 2010, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers and plants memorials are preferred.
