Robert E. Lang , 84, Minot, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in a Minot hospital.
Robert was born February 18, 1934, in Mandan, ND to Walter and Freida (Grosgebauer) Lang. He grew up and completed his education in Mandan as a graduate of Mandan High School in 1951. Robert enlisted into the US Navy on September 1, 1951. He served 18 months overseas in Korea during the Korean War. He was accorded the National Defense Korean Service, United Nations, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, China Service and Good Conduct Medals. He was honorably discharged on January 26, 1955.
Robert returned to Mandan, ND and began working with Mandan Transfer. He was once joined in marriage to Delores Barhardt.
Robert moved to Minot in March 1957 and began his career at Sweetheart Bakery. He spent the next 36 years of his life dedicated to the business, retiring as a production manager in 1993.
Robert was united in marriage to Patricia (Mann) Butler on February 25, 1979, in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Minot. Robert was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the American Legion and VFW all of Minot. He enjoyed gardening and spent many hours with a fishing pole in his hand. He will be missed by all who shared in his life.
Robert's surviving family includes: his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia Lang, Minot; children, Robin Adams, Mandan, ND; Doyle Lang, Bismarck, ND; stepchildren, Beverly Ricker, Portland, OR, Monte (Ani) Butler, Bismarck, ND and Stacy Butler, Minot, ND; grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Michael Wills, Tyler (Charlene) Pool, Casey Charley, Tobi (Lauren) Richer and Brandon Butler; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Lowell) Dahl, Arlington, SD; sisters-in-law, Kathy Lang, Mandan, ND, Lorna Scovil, Billings, MT, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Lang; brother, Marvin Lang and son-in-law, Wally Adams.

10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot, ND
Interment:
3:00 p.m. Tuesday, North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND

unday, September 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
