Obituary

Robert Oliver Field II, 41, Minot died on Monday, November 26, 2012 in Minot.

Robert was born on July 24, 1971 in Minot to Robert Sr. and Jacqueline (Bernsdorf) Field. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1989. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota for a short time prior to studying at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City for two years.

Robert married Jillian Ebertz in 1993. They made their home in St Paul, MN, where he was employed at Saks 5th Ave as a Visual Designer. The marriage ended in 2001 and Robert moved to Los Angeles where he was employed at Z Gallerie for two years. He returned to Minot in 2004 where he and his friend, Amy Hopkins, established "Miss Mabel" an event business. Their creative genius was evident at the En To Tre fine dining restaurant at Hostfest and several MSU Galas as well as at numerous weddings and other special events in the Minot area. Also, Robert was also employed on a part time basis at MLT Vacations and took full advantage of the travel benefits of the job by traveling to London, Rome and Sydney, Australia just to name a few.

Robert was always proud of his travels. He was only six weeks old when he and his parents moved to Switzerland for two years. He loved mountains so some of his remains will be scattered in the Swiss Alps.

In addition his hobbies and special interests included dreaming big, reading, music, watching old movies, reruns of "The Golden Girls" and "Will and Grace." He also loved architecture and design.

Robert's loving family includes his parents: Robert Sr. and Jacqueline Field of Minot; sister: Marisa Field and brother: Mitchell Field both of West Hollywood CA; grandmother: Darlene Bernsdorf of Minot; aunts and uncles: Doris Engene, Ray Field, Eugene (Betty) Field, Mavis (Kenny) Austin, Betty Makeeff, Reon (Jackie) Bernsdorf, Terry (Karen) Bernsdorf, Carol (Ron) Boen and Vaughn Bernsdorf and numerous very special cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents: Howard Bernsdorf and Carl and Margaret Field and his uncle Kevin Bernsdorf.

Celebration of the Life of Robert O. Field II: Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. AT "10" North Main - Minot.
Booksigning: Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
