Obituary

Robert Archie Ball was called home to his savior Jesus, on January 14th, at the age of 83.

Robert was born August 31st, 1933 in Estherville IA. He was raised on a farm in Bingham Lake, MN and graduated from nearby Windom high school in 1953. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force traveling the world and serving his country for 12 years. While stationed at McChord in Tacoma WA, he met his wife Sally of nearly 48 years, who he married November 23, 1956. Sally passed away June 12th 2004, at the age of 65 in Tacoma, WA. Following the passing of Sally, Robert moved to Turtle Lake.

Robert enjoyed spending his time with people and the simple life that Turtle Lake offered him. "Coffees hot" was a favorite line that many will remember him for, as he invited and savored the fellowship of many church and community friends.

He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, and riding his mule(ATV) out in the open countryside. A favorite longterm hobby was tinkering on and collecting old farm John Deere tractors and toys. He was known for his innovations and ability to problem solve mechanically and received multiple accolades from the military for his ingenuity. Following his military career, he worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation, as a bridge tender/ operator of the Blair Waterway Bridge.

As a youth, Robert was an active member of the FFA, and throughout life was an avid supporter of FFA. Both of his sons are accomplished high school Agriculture Education Instructors and FFA Advisors.

He is survived by his younger sister Beverly Leidholt (Philip), two sons Jeffrey (Tammy), John (Jennifer), and 6 Grandchildren: Nathan, Alyssa, Alexis, Macy, Marissa, and Sarah. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
