Richard Dale Zumbaum, 72, Minot and formerly of the Denhoff area, died Thursday, April 16, 2020 in a Bismarck Hospital.

Richard was born October 1, 1947 at Bismarck, North Dakota the son of Benjamin and Lillian (Engel) Zumbaum. He was raised and educated at Denhoff and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1965.

Richard was united in marriage to Cindy Sauter on January 17, 1974 at St John's Lutheran Church in McClusky. They made their home on a farm Southeast of Denhoff, where they raised their 3 children and farmed small grains and had cattle until 1992. He then was employed at Grain Elevators in Anamoose, Goodrich and Max, along with doing maintenance work for the city of Goodrich.

Richard and Cindy moved to Minot in 2005, where they have served as on site apartment managers for (IMM) Investors Management & Marketing.

Richard attended Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed his nightly bingo at the Lucky Strike.

Richard is survived by: his loving wife of 46 years, Cindy, Minot; children, James (Samantha) Zumbaum, Minot, Robert (Tamara) Zumbaum, Lansford, ND and Amanda (Matt) Spoonemore, Minot; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eldora 'Joyce' Miller, Phoenix, AZ, Kathy (Myron) Mindt, Goodrich, ND and Carol Zumbaum, Sterling, ND; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack (Norma) Zumbaum, and brother in law, Milo Miller.

Due to the current Covid Restrictions there will be a Private Celebration of Life service by invitation on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot. A livestream of the service can be viewed by accessing http://www.vincentumc.com/
Private Visitation by invitation: Sunday, May 3rd in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: A Public Graveside service will take place on Monday, May 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Denhoff Cemetery, Denhoff, ND.
