Richard Vincent Schwan , 61, Minot died on Friday, September 12, 2008 in his home.

Dick was born on August 14, 1947 in Rugby, ND to Vincent and Barbara (Schell) Schwan. He was raised in Rugby and Minot where the family moved in 1954. He attended school in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1965. Dick married Judy Eklund on August 27, 1965 in Minot. They made their home in Minot where he was employed by Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store where he served as the meat manager for several years. He served as the manager of Team Electronics prior to beginning employment with TCI Cable TV in Minot. He served as state manager of TCI Cable and then General Manager of MidContinent Cable. He retired in February of 2003.

Dick was a member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church - Minot and the Wildwood Golf Course Men's Club - Burlington. He served on the Strawberry Lake Recreation Services Board of Directors where he had maintained a lake home for many years. He especially enjoyed golfing, darts, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Judy; children: Troy (Charlene) Schwan of Fargo and Teresa (Randy) Ruby of Minot; grandchildren: Stephanie (Ryan) Bussiere, Becky Ruby (finacee - Tony Dean), Daniel, Angela, Amy and Kelsey Ruby and Dixon and Dayton Schwan; great granddaughter: Ahria Bussiere; sisters: Bernetta (Robert) Wright of St. Paul MN, JoAnne (Joe) Feist of Burlington, Sandy (Kim) Nordstrom of Minot; brothers: Robert (Carol) Schwan of Surrey, Jerry (Rita) Schwan of Williston and Dennis Schwan of Minot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Ricky Allen Schwan.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in St. John The Apostle Catholic Church - Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
