Richard P. Larsen , 91, Minot and Mount Pleasant, Iowa died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in an Iowa City hospital.

Richard Peter Larsen was born on January 28, 1927 in Glasgow, MT to Nels and Cecelia (Damman) Larsen. He was raised and educated in Glasgow, graduating from high school in 1945.

Richard attended Watchmaker's School in Kansas City, MO and following his education he returned to Montana. He worked for a short time prior to moving to Dickinson, ND residing there from 1948 until 1952.

He married Bernice Parker on May 18, 1952 in Dickinson and following their marriage they moved to Bismarck. They moved to Minot in 1958 and he became self-employed as a watchmaker/goldsmith at the Time Shop. They moved to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa in the beginning of 2018 to be near their daughter.

Richard was a member of First Lutheran Church, Sertoma Club, Moose Lodge, Elk's Lodge, Magic City Toastmaster's for eight years, and was a member of the ND Watchmakers Association.

Richard's loving family includes wife, Bernice, Mt. Pleasant, IA; children, Richard Alan Larsen (Brenda Tague) Scottsdale, AZ and Valerie (Rick) Bonser, Mt. Pleasant, IA; grandchildren, Casey Pollmeier, Erin (Stanley) Stevens, Colin (June) Larsen, and Danielle Gulseth (Logan Boltz); and 8 great grandchildren and siblings, Walter Larsen, Tampa, FL, Melvin Larsen, Glasgow, MT, Jennie (Gus) Lightfoot, Knoxville, IA and Annie (Dick) Buell, St. Helens, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Laurence; sister-in-law, Lois Larsen and brother-in-law, Robert Just.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.
