Richard L. Caudill, Minot, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in a Minot hospital.

Richard was born December 7, 1949, in Jenkins, KY to George and Ruby (Gibson) Caudill. He was raised and educated in Kentucky, where he gained employment as a young adult in the coal mines.

He enlisted into the US Air Force on July 20, 1973, serving his country honorably until his discharge in August 13, 1976 from Minot Air Force Base. Richard was united in marriage to Karen Keyes on in Dec. 14, 1974 in Minot, ND.

Richard gained employment with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1977, serving as a brakeman for a number of years until joining the United States Postal Service. He worked as a mail carrier for the next seventeen years until ill health forced his retirement.

He devoted his life to his family, especially his grandchildren, who adored him. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite in Minot. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.

His loving family includes: Loving wife, Karen, Minot, ND; Children, Richard Caudill Jr., Kentucky, Tracy (Jeff) Goode, Minot, ND, Jack Caudill, Minot, ND and Jessica Caudill, Minot, ND and Grandchildren, Zachary, Logan and Shyanna Caudill.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010, at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however, family and friends are invited to sign the memorial register book on Sunday, September 19, 2010, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
