Rhonda (Jost) Huizenga , 56, Burlington, died Friday, July 26, 2013 in her home.

Rhonda was born July 18, 1957 in Williston, ND, the daughter of Arnold and Patricia (O'Brien) Jost. She was raised in Belfield and Bowbells until her family settled to Burlington in 1964. She graduated with the D.L.B. Class of 1975. Rhonda attended the Wahpeton State School of Science in the field of data entry.

Rhonda was united in holy marriage to Larry Huizenga August 18, 1979 at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. This union was blessed with two children, Shawn on August 11, 1982 and Sara on March 26, 1991.

In her early years, Rhonda worked at the DeIsmaskin in Burlington and for Jost Cement. Following her graduation from Wahpeton, she worked from Midco Data and then following a move to Bismarck, she worked at the Capitol Building.

They returned to Burlington in 1980. Rhonda managed the bookwork and dispatched the trucks for the family business, Huizenga Trucking/Minot Coal from 1984 to present.

Rhonda loved to garden could often be found tending her flowers in the yard. Because of her green thumb and hard work she was a recognized for the 'yard of the week' in Burlington. An avid quilter, Rhonda made numerous quilts for many family members and friends over the years. Rhonda also loved her cats, all adopted from shelters over the years. She was also an avid bingo player, and enjoyed taking an annual trip to Deadwood with the 'Pink Ladies'.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, precious daughter, trusted sister and aunt and good friend.

Her loving family includes husband of 33 years, Larry, Burlington, children, Shawn Huizenga, Minot and Sara(Broch Vetter) Huizenga, Minot; parents, Arnold and Patricia Jost, Burlington; sister, Jackie (Gregg) Blikre, Gillette, WY; brothers, Curt (Darla) Jost and Brian (Denise) Jost, both of Burlington; nieces and nephews, Cari (Cory) Olson, Daniel (Kristi) Jost, Dustin Jost, Lacey Jost, Jay Jost, Lucas and Kelly (Blikre) Howell, Devin Huizenga and Alex Huizenga; mother-in-law, Gladys Huizenga, Minot; sister-in-law, Cheryl Kabanuk, rural Minot and brothers-in-law, Lee (Jane) Huizenga, Mandan and Leon Huizenga, rural Minot.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Orrie Huizenga and brother-in-law, Ray Kabanuk.

Funeral service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church, Burlington.

Interment: Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Burlington, ND

Visitation will be held on Monday July 29, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church, Burlington, Souris Valley Animal Shelter, Minot or to an organization for Cancer Research of the donor's choice.
