Obituary

Regina Jackson , 45, Minot formerly of Lauferweiser, Germany, died Saturday Jan 16, 2010, in her home after a long illness with her husband, Douglas and her daughter Jessica at her side.

Regina was born April 17, 1964 Simmern, Hunsruck Germany to Theresia Maria and Gunter Walter Baecker. She was the youngest of eight children. Regina was formerly married to Airman John R. Jones in 1985. From this union one child was born, Jessica Nicole. She came to the United States at the age of twenty-two with her husband Airman Jones. Their travels in the Air Force took them to Greece, Kansas, Japan and England.

Regina met Airman Douglas Jackson in 2002 and they were married in Minot, North Dakota on February 20, 2005. Regina and Douglas had a very loving, special relationship. They grew closer in their almost five years of marriage than most couple's do that are married for decades. The love, the laughter, the times spent travelling or just a stroll through the park increased their bond as husband and wife. This opened their hearts and revealed the love and compassion they had for each other which only strengthened their union.

Regina took pride in her home no matter where she lived, be it Germany, England or the United States. She had a passion for homemaking that went beyond the mere painting of walls or vacuuming of floors. Her home was always warm and inviting to those who would enter. Regina loved animals (especially dogs) gardening and all kinds of flowers. She loved watching HGTV. Her favorite shows were Design on a Dime, House Hunters, Get it Sold and basically any program dealing with homemaking. She would spend hours in her "movie theater" as she called it watching these programs.

Although she was small in stature Regina was without a doubt a courageous and brave woman. Tough as they come and feisty. Everyone she met thought she was adorable. Many commented that Regina had a youthful aura about her that was captivating.

Regina Jackson will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Jessica, her father Gunter, brothers- Klaus and Peter, her sisters-Christa (Rolf), Ursula, Ingrid (Gerd) all of Germany and Brigitte (Arnold), her niece Alexandra and nephew Michael and a host of friends and neighbors.

Regina was preceded in death by her mother, Theresia Maria Baecker.
