Obituary

Raymond "Ray" Louis Boppre, 84, Minot and formerly of the Hansboro area, died Monday, February 27, 2012 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Ray was born January 6, 1928 on the family farm near Hansboro, North Dakota, the son of Clarence and Mary Louise (Bercier) Boppre. He was raised and educated in Picton Township of Towner Country and assisted with the operation of the family farm near Hansboro, ND.

Ray entered into active duty service with the U.S. Army in 1950, and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict in Germany until 1952. He returned to North Dakota upon receiving his discharge and shortly thereafter moved to Hinsdale, MT, where he worked on a ranch for one year before returning to the family homestead, where he continued to farm until 1984.

Ray then moved to Minot, where he assisted his brother, Lloyd in the operation of Lloyds Sheet Metal until retiring in 1995.

Ray was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hansboro, ND; the VFW and Disabled American Veterans of both Minot and the Picton Township Board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Ray is survived by his sisters, Gladys (John) Schultz, Dickinson, Helen Guderjohn, Malta, MT, Bernice Boppre, Bottineau; brother, Lloyd (Sharon) Boppre, Minot; aunts, Mildred Prouty, Dunseith, and Eloise Boppre, Bottineau, uncle, Roy Boppre, Oregon and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Doreen and brother, Clarence Eugene Boppre.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to a local veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
