Randall "Randy" Hartley, 68, Minot, formerly of Surrey and Towner, died Monday, January 4, 2021 after complications from COVID.
Randy was born on December 4, 1952 at Rugby, ND, the son of Bill and Verna "Gae" (Peterson) Hartley. After the death of his parents at an early age, he was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Sylvia and Marvin Domsten, whom he called, Mom and Dad. He graduated from Minot High School in 1972 and attended Technical/Heavy Equipment School in Florida.
Randy was married to Ruth Catlin in 1987. They made their home in Minot and Surrey and were blessed with a daughter, Heather. They later divorced.
Randy was united in marriage to Rhonda Wolfe in 1994. From this union, they were blessed with a son, Holden. They had made their home in Towner, Surrey and Minot.
Throughout the years, Randy was employed with various construction companies in the area and had most recently worked at Minot State University in the Maintenance department. He retired in 2018.
Randy enjoyed watching the WWE, the Green Bay Packers, and listening to Elvis, Johnny Cash, and CCR. He loved spending time with his family, especially at the lake. He cherished times with his kids and grandkids. They were his pride and joy. He loved going on trips with his wife, including recently accomplishing his bucket list dream of visiting Elvis Presley's Graceland in Memphis TN.
Randy's loving family includes , wife, Rhonda Hartley, Minot; children, Heather (Shane) Engeland, Willow City, ND and Holden Hartley, Minot; grandchildren, Emily, Henry and Marvin; siblings, Shan (Karen) Domsten, Minot, Doug (Beth) Domsten, Florida and Janell (Mack) Roy, Minot; mother, Sylvia Domsten, Minot; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Randy was preceded in death by his birth parents; and his dad, Marvin Domsten, and various cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Private Family Service: Friday, January 8, 2020 in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
