Randy Lee Ashleson , 53 of Ross, North Dakota formerly of Albert Lea, MN died unexpectedly in Minot, ND at Trinity Health on March 18, 2014.
Randy was born May 21, 1960 in Albert Lea, MN to Lawrence "Larry" and Lorraine "Lori" (Klukow) Ashleson. He was raised in Albert Lea, where he attended grade school and was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.
He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and was confirmed at Ascension Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. In his youth, Randy was a member of the Four Lakes 4-H Club and the Sunset Saddle Club in Albert Lea. He and his all around registered quarter horse "Big Boy" won many trophies and ribbons at many shows and fairs.
At the present time, Randy was working for Loenbro Pipe Line of Epping, ND in the oil fields as a heavy equipment operator. Previously, he owned and operated High View Manufacturing in Alta Vista, IA, a welding business, for over 20 years. He could fabricate anything for someone in need. Various projects included building very large trailers to helping a farmer weld and repair his leaking cattle water tank. A large part of his business was making equipment for the swine industry.
In addition to his business, he also was a crop farmer, raising hogs, for many years starting when he was just a young boy. Randy built his beautiful home in Alta Vista, IA on his acreage. There wasn\'t anything he couldn\'t do. Randy possessed many skills and talents, doing each with dedication, perseverance and perfection.
Randy loved western Montana, Glacier National Park being his favorite place, which he visited many times over many years. He loved the mountains and parks, airplanes and flying, traveling, fishing, his dogs and also breeding, raising and training his registered quarter horses. Randy was a member of the White Earth Valley Saddle Club in White Earth, ND. He was a history enthusiast and was known to joke around with his family and many friends in the different states and towns he resided in over the years.
Randy is survived by his mother, Lori Ashleson, Albert Lea, MN; brothers, Ricky Ashleson, Northwood, IA and Robbie (Kim) Ashleson, Cottage Grove, MN; nephew, Brian Ashleson; niece, Erica Ashleson; uncles and aunts: Dwayne, Harlan, Lonnie and Debbie Klukow, and Marlys Fox; many cousins and his constant canine companion, Bailey in addition to his many friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Ben and Vera Ashleson and Donald and Hazel Klukow, and his aunt and uncle, Julius and Leatrice Spilde.
Randy, we all love you and miss you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga, ND.
Arrangements have been made by Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot, ND.
