Obituary

Ramona May Jakshe , 67, Minot, formerly of Pueblo, CO, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in a Minot Healthcare Center.

Ramona was born January 12, 1941 at Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Carl and Eva (Albrecht) Hitchcock. She was raised and educated at Pueblo and graduated from Centennial High School there in 1959. Following high school, she was employed for several years as a hostess with Continental Bus Lines.

Ramona was united in marriage to James Jakshe in 1963. They made their home throughout the years in Denver and Pueblo, where she was employed as a bookkeeper for various businesses for more than forty years. James died in 1988. Ramona retired in 2005, when she moved to Minot to be near her daughter and her family.

Ramona had attended Calvary Alliance Church, Minot. She was a member of the ND Singles Club, and was active in the Minot Moose Lodge. She enjoyed working with crafts and reading, along with baking for her grandson Derek and friends. She developed a love for the game of hockey. She enjoyed meeting up with her "hockey grandmas" at games to cheer on the MHS Magicians. She was admired on the dance floor for her two step, and jitterbug. Prior to coming to Minot, she enjoyed spending time at her mountain property in Colorado. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter's family and special friend, Don, at their Lake Metigoshe home .

Ramona's loving family includes : daughter: Gina (Steve) Blasing, and their son: Derek, Minot; Special friend and companion: Don Linnertz, Minot, sisters: Marie (Harley) Daniels, of Huntsville, Alabama, Mary Ann (Mick) Parr, Sacramento, CA, Vivian (Butch) Monge, Pueblo, CO; brothers:

Jack (Bonnie) Hitchcock, Fowler, CO, Duke (June) Hitchcock, Grand Junction, CO, Robert Hitchcock, Canyon City, CO, Leon (Vicki) Hitchcock, Denver, CO; brother-in-law: Clifford Petz, Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law: Billie Hitchcock, Parker, CO, and Carmen Hitchcock of Aurora, Colorado. A number of nieces and nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Evelyn, Roberta and Irene; brothers: Jim and Bill; sister in law: Peggy.

Funeral service: Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Calvary Alliance Church, Minot
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation: Wednesday from 2:00-7:00 pm. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot .
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials be designated to MHS Magicians Blueline Club or Calvary Alliance Church.
