Reuben Lynn May, 94, Minot and longtime Mohall area farmer, died Friday, December 28, 2012 in a Minot hospital.

Lynn was born on June 22, 1918 in Lansford to Samuel and Emma (Miller) May. He was reared and educated in Lansford and graduated from Lansford High School in 1935. As a young adult he assisted on the family farm prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1941. He served with the First Armored Division until his honorable discharge in August of 1945. Following his discharge he returned to the Lansford area.

Lynn married Elizabeth "Betty" Born on February 23, 1946 in Rochester, NY. They made their home on the family farm in Clay Township of Renville County where they farmed and raised seven daughters. Lynn and Betty moved to Minot in 1979 when they retired from farming. Most recently they had resided at Edgewood Vista in Minot.

Lynn was a former member of the Mohall Methodist Church and the Farmers Union. His hobbies and special interests included farming, traveling and spending winters in Arizona.

Lynn's loving family includes his wife of 66 years Betty; six daughters: Nancy (James) Buttke of Sierra Vista AZ, Barb (Gordon) Besse of Rugby, Mary (Dennis) Carter of Mandan, Kathy Koenig of West Fargo, Patricia Hrichena and Priscilla May both of Minot; son-in-law: Steve Hallingstad of Hot Springs SD; nine grandchildren: 4 great grandchildren: several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Carol Hallingstad and brothers: Bruce, Grant, Avery and Merrill.

Celebration of the Life of Lynn May: Wednesday, January 2, 2012, 11 a.m. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 1, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
