Phyllis Bernice Jenneman, 90, Minot and former longtime Burt Township area resident died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in a Minot hospital.
Phyllis was born on February 8, 1923 in Birdsholm, Alberta, Canada to Rudolph and Selma (Winter) Schultz. She was reared in Hardin, Montana and on a farm near Max, ND and graduated from Max High School in 1939. She continued her education at Minot State Teachers College, earned her standard teaching certificate and taught at rural schools both north and south of Minot prior to her marriage and in Burt Township for three years after her children were in school.
Phyllis married Warren Jenneman on June 10, 1944 in Max. They made their home in Parkston, SD for five years before buying a farm in Burt Township of Ward County southwest of Minot where they raised dairy cattle, pigs, beef cattle and small grains. They retired in 1999 and moved to Minot in 2002. Warren died on September 5, 2011.
Phyllis was a member of Our Redeemer's Church and its Senior Fellowship Group. She especially enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and word find puzzles.
Phyllis' loving family includes her daughters: Gloria (Roy) Robison of Surprise AZ and Cindy (Marvin) Mertz of rural Minot; grandchildren: Lora, LeAnna, David, Steven, Mandy and Cole; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters: Vera Koosman and Delores Schmidt both of Gresham OR and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Elvira Ryan, grandson: Luke Helvig, great grandson: Michael Butler, sister: Ethel Petterson and brother: Helmer Schultz.
Celebration of the Life of Phyllis Jenneman: Friday, March 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Redeemer's Church Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park Minot.
Visitation: Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer's Church.
