Phyllis Birdsall, 79, Berthold, died Tuesday, November 06, 2018 in a Minot hospital.

Phyllis was born December 4, 1938, in Minot, ND to Lewis and Wilma (Dunn) Mann. She spent her youth and attended school in Lonetree, ND until moving with her family to Mandan Township of Ward County near Berthold. Phyllis was a graduate of Berthold High School in 1956. She attended Minot State University.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Ralph Birdsall on August 18, 1957 in Lonetree. They called a farm in Passport Township home for the next 57 years. Together they operated a family farm that raised cattle, produced small grains and saw the blessing of four children. They moved from the farm into Berthold in 2014.

Phyllis was a member of Berthold Baptist Church and was active in church circle in addition to serving as the church pianist in Lonetree and Berthold from 1951 - 2013. She loved to sing duets with her sister Carole and also assisted with youth fellowship at the church for many years. She enjoyed her membership to the Berthold Senior Citizens, where she loved to play cards and share in fellowship.  She worked at Trinity Hospital as a nurse's aide and at Berthold Farmers Union as a bookkeeper. She was also very involved with Meals on Wheels in Berthold.  One of their biggest enjoyments was supporting their grandchildren and all Bomber activities from their seats in the stands. Phyllis and Ralph looked forward to spending time in Arizona over the winter months. She enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles and blessed many family and friends with her baking and cooking. Phyllis was a staple of feeding everyone who helped on the farm, traveling many times out to the fields to bring them a home cooked meal. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share in her life.

Phyllis  is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ralph, Minot; children, Debbie (Jack) Hansen, Berthold, Mark (Colleen) Birdsall, Berthold, Leanne (Jim) Peterson, Berthold and Craig (DeAnn) Birdsall, Carpio, ND; grandchildren, Jory (Missy) Hansen, Cody (Brittany) Hansen, Whitney (Sam) Landman, Danae (Blake) Inman, Kyle Peterson, Abbey (Derek) Lee, Tyler Birdsall, Adam Birdsall, Rachel Birdsall (fiancé Adam Knudsvig) and Sara Birdsall; great-grandchildren, Molly, Cally, Brody, Brycen, and Colten Hansen, Owen, Emma and Autumn Inman; sister, Carole Luetzen, Sheridan, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Matthew Birdsall, great-grandchildren, Hayden and Kade Hansen and brother, Gordon Mann.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Berthold Baptist Church, Berthold, ND.
Public Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Berthold Baptist Church, Berthold, ND.
Interment: Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold, ND.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot and from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church in Berthold.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the Berthold Baptist Church.
