Philip A. Davis, 71, Minot, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 in a Fargo nursing home.

Philip was born March 9, 1937, in Roosevelt, MN, to John and Florence (Putney) Nesheim. He was raised and educated in Warroad until the early 1950's, when his family moved to the Sawyer area.

He worked various construction and truck driving jobs in his earlier years in the Minot area.

Phil was united in marriage to Alma Lea Strode in 1961. They called Minot their home for their entire lives. Phil was employed as a chef at the Minot Air Force Base in the NCO Club for many years until he retired. Alma died on March 28, 2002.

Phil was a longtime member of the ND Feathers and Fur Club and the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Minot. His hobbies included raising and showing game birds, fishing and attending garage sales. Phil loved spending time with his family. His great-granddaughter, Gabriella, brought great joy to his life. Phil will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.

Surviving family includes: Daughter: Jackie Nadeau, Minot, ND; Son: Darrell Davis, Minot, ND; Grandchildren: Jordanna Davis, Jessica Nadeau, Darrell Davis Jr., and Jonathon Davis; Great-Granddaughter: Gabriella Kay Nadeau; Step-Children: Ginny (Delane) Wagner, Rapid City, SD and Michael (Diane) Strode, Dickinson, ND; Brothers: Larry Nesheim and Gary (Sandy) Nesheim, both of Sawyer, ND; a niece and nephew, and several cousins.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Alma.

Funeral: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Southside Church of the Nazarene, Minot.
Interment: Willis Township Cemetery, rural Minot, ND;
Visitation: At the request of the family there will be no reviewal, however friends may sign a memorial register on Tuesday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
