Peggy Brown , 71, Minot, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in a Minot hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Peggy was born February 24, 1936, in Bottineau, ND, the daughter of Clarence and Viola (Goheen) Anderson. Peggy spent her early years on the farm in the Newburg-Russell area. She attended Minot Public Schools when the family moved to Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1954. She attended the University of North Dakota and graduated from Minot State College with a degree in Psychology.
Peggy was once married to Don "Dazy" Young. They owned and operated many businesses in Minot over the years. Peggy was united in marriage to Barry Brown on June 21, 1976, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was also employed by St. Josephs Hospital and the State of North Dakota.
Peggy was a member of the Minot Woman's Bowling Association and bowled for many years. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan, and loved to attend their games. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and they always came first in her life. She was a loyal and true friend to many people.
Surviving family includes: Children: Sherrie Young, Lake Tahoe, NV, Son, Thomas (Olga) Young, Truckee, CA; Grandsons: Ryan, Kyle, and Jordan Young; Brothers: Morris (Bette) Anderson, Minot, Gary (Sharon) Anderson, Arizona, Gene (Laural) Anderson, Colorado; Sisters: Carole (Donn) Roach, Arkansas, Corene (Dick) Dunn, Minnesota, Connie Anderson, Minnesota; Brothers-in-law: Vernon Pfau and Bruce (Susan) Brown; Special friend: Karen; and many nieces, nephew, and cousins.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Barry Brown; stepson: Brent Brown; sister: Betty Pfau; and brother: Richard Anderson.
Funeral service:
Monday, November 5, 2007, at 1:30 p.m., in Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot
Interment:
Will be held at a later date.
Visitation:
There will be no reviewal; however family and friends may sign the memorial register book on Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
