Pearl Christine Brostrom , 94, Minot died on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in a Minot healthcare center.
Pearl was born on March 15, 1913 in Max, North Dakota to Chris and Pernille (Syversen) Helgesen. She was reared on a farm southwest of Max and graduated from Max High School. As a young adult she moved to Minot and was employed at Trinity Hospital.
Pearl married Ray Brostrom on October 18, 1936 at Minot. They had made her home in Minot where Ray was an Electrolux vacuum cleaner salesman for more than forty years. Ray died on August 21, 1998.
Pearl was a member of the West Minot Church of God where she was active as a Sunday School teacher, Music Committee member and Ladies Fellowship participant. Also, she was a member of the Minot Senior Citizens.
Her loving family includes her children: Beverly (Carl) McDaniel and Barbara Freyer both of Minot, Wayne (Marilyn) Brostrom of Bismarck and Lynwood (Julie) Brostrom of Peachtree City, Georgia; grandchildren: Loir McDaniel and Carla Ware, Janice Hansen, Yvette Ashe, Rick and Nathan Freyer and Darren, Jason, Jeremy, Andrew and Bobby Brostrom; great grandchildren: Alyssa and Aaron Hansen, Joelle, Joshua and Jared McDaniel, Geoffrey and Erin Ashe, Benjamin, Josiah and Lola Brostrom, Joel and Claire Ware, Jayden and Kaylee Freyer as well as two expected great grandchildren (due in February and March of 2008); great grandchild: Gabriel Spokely; sister: Nora Grove of Fountain Valley, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: David Brostrom, sisters: Clara Campbell and Olga Tate and brothers: Sigurd, Alfred, Chris and Louis Helgesen.
Funeral Service:
Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the West Minot Church of God.
Interment
will follow at Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation
: Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
