Pauline Katherine Roll , 102, Minot, formerly of Anamoose & Balta, died Friday, July 23, 2010 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Pauline was born March 29, 1908 at Martin, North Dakota the daughter of August and Magdalena (Kaul) Hoepfer. She was raised and educated at Anamoose and assisted with the operation of the family farm.

She was united in marriage to Jacob Roll on July 26, 1926 at Towner. They made their home throughout the years at Breckenridge, MN, Alsen, ND and Balta, ND. Jacob died March 15, 1947. Following his death, she moved to Minot, where she has since lived. She was employed primarily as a bookkeeper for Northwest Piano and Motor Service. She retired in 1973. She moved into Trinity Homes in September of 2007.

She was a member of the Lutheran Faith. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, baking and reading.

Her loving family includes : daughter, Phyllis (Peter) Metz, Minot; grandchildren, Paul (Ellen) Metz, Minot, Kathy Aiken, Minot, Carol Metz, Colorado Springs, CO, Mary (Jeff) Schlautman, Freemont, Neb, and Joel (Shari) Metz of Minot; great grandchildren: Jason, Michael, Allison, Sarah, Nathan, Jacob, Caleb, Emily, Stephanie and Matthew; great-great grandchildren: Alexander, David, Thomas, Olivia, Sophia, Jameson, Gage; sisters: Olive Faber, Bottineau, ND and Arlene Schmaltz, Anamoose, ND; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson-in-law: James Aiken, brothers, Donald, Irvin, Herbert, John, Edward and sisters, Martha and Elsie.

Funeral service: Monday, July 26, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment : Anamoose Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation: At the request of the family there will not be any reviewal, however friends may sign the memorial register book on Monday from Noon-5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials to the Anamoose Baptist Cemetery.
