Pauline Edna Rasch, 89, Minot, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008, in a Bismarck hospital.
Pauline was born August 21, 1919, in Westhope, ND, to Paul and Edna (Fuller) Leithoff. She was raised and educated in Westhope and graduated from Westhope High School in 1937.
As a young adult, Pauline was employed at Midwest Lumber, currently known as Great Plains Supply, as a bookkeeper from 1938-1944. Then, she moved to Portland, OR, where she was employed at Columbia Aircraft Industries until the end of the World War II.
Pauline moved to Santa Ana, CA and was once united in marriage to Arnold Wold on August 1, 1945. Following their marriage they lived in the Midwest, where she was employed by Great Plains Supply before beginning employment at Sears Roebuck, Inc. Pauline worked in the credit department of that company from 1961-1966. She joined Western Welding (now Praxair) of Minot in 1966 and served as their bookkeeper for almost 20 years until her retirement in 1985.
Pauline was united in marriage to Richard Rasch on September 23, 1985, in Dannebrog, NE. Following their marriage, they made their home in Minot. Richard died on July 28, 2005. Pauline moved to Mandan to live closer to her daughter in 2006.
Pauline was a 60 year member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was also a member and past president of the Women of the Moose and International War Veteran's Alliance, both of Minot. Pauline also served as a past president, district officer, and treasurer for the local American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, both of Minot and the Germans from Russia organization.
Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, bingo, playing cards, collecting recipes, crafts, and traveling. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.
Surviving family includes: Daughter: Darlene Wold, Mandan, ND; Son: Paul (Merna) Wold, Dannebrog, NE; Stepson: Gerald (Myra) Rasch, Dallas, TX; Grandchildren: Brian (Bridget) Wold, Matthew Wold (fiancee Kristi Clement), Melissa (Ryan) Sack; Great-Grandchildren: Dylan, Isiah, Karsyn and a great grandchild expected soon as well as numerous cousins.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard.
Funeral Service:
Monday, September 22, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Monday, September 22, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND
Visitation:
Sunday, September 21, 2008, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the VFW or the ND Veterans Cemetery
