Obituary

Pauline Lee, 92, Minot, formerly of Surrey, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 16, 2013 in Minot.

Pauline was born April 3, 1921 on the family farm near Surrey, North Dakota, the daughter of Ernest and Pearl (Tofflemire) Warner. She was the youngest of six children. She was raised on the farm and graduated from Surrey High School in 1939. During her younger years, she was employed with Montgomery Ward's Department Store.

Pauline was united in marriage to Sverre "Selmer" Lee on December 27, 1941 at Minot. They made their home in Minot, where along with raising their two children, Sue and Bob, Pauline also worked at Sears Department Store. She later was employed as a book keeper with Don Moe Motors and in the same capacity with I Keating Furniture World for more than eighteen years. She retired in 1982. Her husband, Selmer died September 19, 1979.

Pauline and Selmer moved into the Marion Heights condos, shortly before Sel's death. This is where Pauline made her home for the next thirty-three years and met many wonderful friends. In March of 2012, she moved to Edgewood Vista Assisted Living. Pauline loved living there with her many new friends and wonderful care givers. She loved people and was so appreciative and thankful for all who gave so much to her life!

Pauline enjoyed reading, ceramics, music and baking. She was often found baking brownies and banana bread (even at Edgewood Vista) to give back to those who had given of themselves to help her. She especially enjoyed family activities and decorating her home for Christmas. Pauline also put together many photo albums of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pauline loved her church, First Assembly of God, and attended there since childhood. In earlier days, she taught Sunday School and sang with trios and quartets. She was also involved with the Women's Missionary group and had many beloved friends there. Pauline was a woman of strong faith who believed in Jesus and always said, "We just have to trust God." Pauline was also a member of the United Transportation Auxiliary local #442. To many, she was Pauline, but others knew her as "Grandma Pinky."

Her loving family includes, daughter: Sue Adele (Stan) Gibbs, Coon Rapids, MN; daughter in law: Kathy Lee, Burlington, ND; six grandchildren: Steve Gibbs, Stephanie (Jeff) Krieg, Sarah (Shaun) Jackson, Dustin Lee, Tonya Allen and PJ (Matt) Wilkerson; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Ditlevson, Plymouth, MN; a cousin, Enid Petry, several nieces and nephews, along with her special friends and caregivers, Diane Earhart and Marv Pfenning of Minot.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, beloved son, Robert Lee (1999), sisters, Ernestine and Marguerite, and brothers, Eugene and Donald "Hap" Warner.
