Pauline Holwegner, 91, Minot and formerly of Bismarck, Jamestown and Wilton died on Friday, November 23, 2018 in a Minot healthcare center.

Pauline Marjorie was born on March 29, 1927 in Wilton, ND to Michael and Millie (Makowski) Kabylnick. She was raised and educated in Wilton and graduated from Wilton High School in 1945.

Following her high school graduation, she was employed at Yellowstone Park for a summer season and at a resort in Tucson AZ for the winter season. As a young adult, she was employed as an office worker at the Truax-Traer Coal Mine near Wilton until the mine closed. She moved to Bismarck in 1948 where she met Clifford Holwegner. They were married on November 25, 1948 at the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Wilton. They made their home in Minot for the next 20 years and then at Wahpeton (one year), White Bear Lake MN (10 years), Glendive, MT, (1 year), Billings MT (8 years), Jamestown (3 years) and Bismarck after Cliff's retirement from Red River Valley and Western Railroad in 2000. They moved to Minot in 2003 to be closer to family.  Cliff died on August 14, 2009.  Most recently Pauline had resided at Somerset Assisted Living and Minot Health and Rehab.

Pauline was a member of the Catholic churches and altar societies in the communities in which she resided and was presently a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was an avid volunteer for numerous organizations wherever she lived. Pauline was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to everyone she met.

Pauline's loving family includes her children: Larry (Shirley) Holwegner, Ken (Judy Rae) Holwegner of Fargo, Dan (Pam) Holwegner of Minot, Paula (Ron) Soine of Woodbury MN, Tod (Julie) Holwegner of Casper WY and Kristine (Mark) Mitchke of Seattle WA; sixteen grandchildren:  Jannah, Laura, Jessee, Shannon, Jennifer, Jacob, Wayne, Jerica, Ashley, Nick, Kendra, Sara, Joshua, Wyatt, Anna, and Bridget; seventeen great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Josephine Brezden, Anne Krush,

an infant brother and sister and granddaughter: Jerica Irmen.

Mass of Christian Burial:  Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service:  Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel - Minot.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.

Visitation:  Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
