Pauline Witikko Anderson,
84, Minot died on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in a Minot healthcare center.
Pauline was born on May 26, 1926, in Temvik, ND to Christian and Sophia (Heinrich) Albrecht. She was reared and educated in Temvik and graduated from Temvik High School in 1944. She attended a teacher's college where she received her standard teaching certificate. As a young adult she taught at a rural school near Temvik.
Pauline was once married to Reino Witikko. They made their home in rural Kintyre, ND before moving to Bismarck in 1952 and to Minot in 1956. While residing in Minot she was employed as a waitress at the North Hill Bowl Caf and Moose Lodge, and at the Minot Dental Lab for 20 years and the commissary at the Minot Air Force Base. In later years she cared for her grandchildren.
Pauline married Harry J. Anderson on November 6, 1982, in Minot. They made their home at 1301 1st St. N.E. in Minot. Harry died on December 25, 1999. Pauline moved to Edgewood Vista in 2005 and to ManorCare Healthcare Center in 2008.
Pauline was a member of First Lutheran Church of Minot where she served as a deaconess. She was a member of the Moose Lodge where she served as a guide. She especially enjoyed playing bingo and cards, reading and traveling and was an accomplished seamstress.
Surviving family includes: her children, Karen LeMay and Doug (Shirley) Witikko of Minot and Tim Witikko of Albany, OR; grandchildren: Brent (Brenda) Behrens, Scott Degenstein, Dawn Degenstein, Nicole (Shawn) Swartwout and Brock Witikko; great-grandchildren: Jasmine Christenson, Marisol Lopez, Jagger and Reino Swartwout and Shana Behrens; sisters: Emma Kiemele of St. Paul and Helen McHattie of Seattle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Irene, Alma, Mathilda, Ruth, Martha and Christine; and brothers: David, Albert, Walter, John, Arnie and Reinhold.
Funenal Service:
Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in First Lutheran Church - Minot
Interment
will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot
Visitation:
Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot
