Obituary

Patricia Ann Baldwin, 74, Minot and formerly of Carrington passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, in a Velva nursing home.

Patricia was born on December 31, 1933 at home in Hazen, ND, to Maxwell and Bertha (Beck) Gallagher. Patricia's father passed away when she was very young. She attended first grade in Hazen, during her elementary school years she was raised in Kathryn, ND by Leslie and Bertha Bakken. She graduated from Valley City High School in 1951.

Patricia was united in marriage to Orvel Baldwin on December 17, 1951, in Camp Rucker, Alabama. They lived there for one year while Orvel finished his time in the military. Following his discharge they lived in Jamestown, ND, relocating to Carrington, ND in 1954. Patricia was a lifelong bookkeeper and was employed at Reimers Tax Services, then at Schultz Lumber Company, later known as Carrington Lumber Company, until her retirement in 2000. Orvel passed away on July 6, 2003. In May of 2005 Patricia moved to Minot and resided at Edgewood Vista.

Patricia was a member of the Federated Church in Carrington where she was active in the Ladies Guild. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a guest lecturer for Carrington Elementary School. Her hobbies included bowling, camping, fishing, knitting, embroidering, crocheting, reading and writing poems..

Patricia's loving family includes her children: Joel (Mari) Baldwin, Minot, Mary (David) Welken, Ridgeland, SC, and Scott (Betty) Baldwin, Grand Island, NE; Five Grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Michael, Jennifer and Melissa; Sisters: Mary St. Cin, Granite City, IL and Judy (Bill) Vasey, Rawlins, WY; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Orvel.

Funeral: Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the Federated Church of Carrington, ND;
Interment: Carrington Cemetery
Visitation: Monday from noon to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot, Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to noon all in Evans Funeral Home of Carrington.
Memorials: In lieu of plants and flowers memorials are preferred to the Federated Church or Souris Valley Care Center-Velva.
