Reverend Rollin Rogness passed away on July 12, 2025 at the age of 92.
Rollin was born on January 23, 1933 in Joice, Iowa the son of Henry and Luella (Brua) Rogness. The experience of growing up on the farm shaped his life and ministry. He married his sweetheart Mary Lou, on June 5, 1955. They recently celebrated 70 years together. Rollin and Mary Lou built a life rooted in ministry, family, and a deep commitment to serving others.
Throughout his life, Rollin, Mary Lou and family answered the call to serve Lutheran Brethren congregations across multiple states, serving Our Redeemer's in Minot twice in his 60+ years of pastoring. In his retirement, he pastored 3 Velva community Country Churches for 16 years. He leaves a legacy of pastoral care, encouragement and spiritual leadership. Rollin loved God's Word as the Gospel permeated his preaching and fueled his compassion and love for people.
Rollin loved his family, he and Mary Lou modeled God's love and grace to three generations and his greatest desire was for all of his family to trust in Jesus Christ. He had an expectation of the beauty and glory of heaven and wanted everyone to be saved and have the assurance of eternal life.
Rollin had a love for gardening and flowers and was happy to see his family carry on those traditions.
