Pamela Anne (Genre) Myhre was born on May 5, 1948 to Alvin and Betty (Love) Genre in Rugby, ND and entered eternal life on March 21, 2021 with her husband by her side.
Pam grew up on a ranch north of Towner and attended a country school. The family then moved to Westhope and she continued her education there until her graduation in 1967. Following high school, Pam received her beautician license from a cosmetology school in Jamestown. She married Billy Swearson in October of 1970 and to this union 4 daughters were born. She owned and operated beauty salons, first in Karlsruhe, and then in Towner. The salon was closed in the early 90's and Pam started working at the Rugby hospital.
Pam married Mitch Myhre on June 2, 2001 in Minot, where they made their home. Together they enjoyed a life full of fishing, camping, traveling, and other adventures. Many times, there would be competitions to see who could catch the biggest fish and claim the bragging rights. Pam often won. While she loved the trips they would take, her heart was at their local camping and fishing spots.
Pam was most proud of her daughters and never missed an opportunity to create memories for them. She was rarely seen without a camera in her hand and created multiple scrapbooks for her girls and grandchildren. She never missed a birthday and always made sure they had a cake and card. Family always came first. She served as a 4-H Leader and helped her daughters finish their 4-H projects, attend their school activities, and made sure they got to Sunday School and Confirmation on time.
She was kind and generous and worked hard to provide for her family. Her other joys in life were playing softball in Towner, quilting, and crocheting blankets. She also loved spending time with her sisters, daughters, and nieces canning the garden produce and making chokecherry syrup. There always seemed to be a game of cards to be had. A competitive game of Hand & Foot or pinochle usually resulted in choice words and maybe a slap or two (all in good fun).
Pam will be missed by her husband, Mitch; daughters: Dawn (Cip) Jungberg, Marcy (Gary) Sanders, Billie (Troy) Sailer, and Joni (Shane) Anderson; 8 grandchildren: Tanner, Caitlyn, & Erika Jungberg, Emma Sanders, Hallie, Kennady, & Rylee Sailer and Baby Anderson due August 27, 2021; and one great-grandchild: Baby Cummins due May 8, 2021; siblings: Lynette (Vern Moses) Sailor, Wade Genre, & Kristi (Jerome) Suchor; mother-in-law: Jeaneane Myhre, Brothers & sisters-in-law: Steve & Lavina Myhre and Wayne & Shelley Olson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, brother Warren Lee, sister Shelly, and father-in-law Harvey Myhre.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at Minot Health and Rehab and to the ladies of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
