Obituary

Orville Oliver Wagar, 87, Minot, formerly of the Deering area, died Friday, February 15, 2013 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Orville was born November 15, 1925 at rural Bantry, North Dakota the son of Wolford and Edith (Beare) Wagar. He was raised on the family farm in Layton Township of McHenry County and educated at country schools near Bantry. Following his education, he assisted with the operation of the family farm.

Orville was united in marriage to Dorothy Wasmundt on September 28, 1966 at Minot. They made their home on a farm near Deering. Orville retired from farming in 1988 and they moved to Minot in 1993.

Orville was a former member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, where he served as a deacon. He currently was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church, Minot. He had volunteered with the Deering Fire Department while they lived on their farm. Orville enjoyed collecting and restoring tractors, gardening and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Dorothy; and sister Audrey Hanson, Minot; brothers in law, Claus Sevland and Alfred Isakson, both of Minot; along with several nieces and nephews, and friend, John Harvey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Mildred Rasch, Dollie Mae Sevland and Viola Isakson; brothers-in-law, Gay Hanson and Art Rasch.

Funeral service: Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Apostolic Faith Church, Minot.
Interment : Union Cemetery, Towner, ND, later in the Spring.
Visitation: Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
