Obituary

Orphie Aileane Wold, 89, longtime Minot resident died on Sunday December 28, 2008 in an Excelsior, MN nursing home.

Orphie was born to Lars and Hattie (Fuglem) Lunde on December 1, 1919 on the family farmsouth of Parshall, ND,inCremerville Township,McLean County. SheattendedSpring ValleySchool near the farm, andgraduated from Parshall High School in 1937. She attended Minot State Teachers College, and graduated from Trinity School of Nursing in 1944. Orphie spent her entire career in Nursing at Trinity Hospital, retiring in 1984.

Orphie married William "Bill" Wold on June 22, 1947 in Minot. They made their home in Minot whereBill was employed at the Grain Terminal Association (GTA). For over 40 years they enjoyed theirweekendsat Lake Metigoshe,and following retirement spent their summers at the lake and winter months in Mesa, Arizona. Bill died on October 22, 1997. Orphie continued to reside in their Minot condo until 2001, when she moved to Somerset Court for the next seven years. In May of 2008, she moved toGolden Living Center in Excelsior, MN to be closer to her son and his family.

Orphie was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot.Throughout the years sheenjoyed the outdoors, hunting andfishing trips, and traveling with Bill. Their travels took them to the Far East, Europe,and the Caribbean. Most recently, in 2006, she traveled to Jamaica, for her grandson Christian's wedding. She especially enjoyed and treasured the many friends she made through the years and reminisced frequently of them and of the good times.

Orphie's loving family includes her son: Michael (Rosann) Wold of Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren: Christian (Jana), Charles, and Scott Wold and sister,Ruth Hutchinsonof Wheatland, Wyoming as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Orphie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Norma Lunde and Grace Randall, and brother, Henry Lunde.

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will follow in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospital Foundation or to Bethany Lutheran Church Foundation.
