Orlynn Locken, 77, Minot and formerly of Berthold died on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 in a Minot hospital.

Orlynn Gene was born on October 26, 1945 in Fargo, ND to Edwin and Violet (Thingelstad) Locken.  He was raised on a farm near Berthold and educated in Berthold.

Orlynn was once married to Renee Murphy, and they made their home on the Locken Family Farm and were the parents of Shane, Travis and Kami.  Throughout the years, Orlynn was employed as an auto mechanic in the Minot area and Seattle, primarily at Westlie Motors for nine years and Cenex/Farmers Union Oil in Berthold for seventeen years.  Also, he farmed for many years near Berthold.  He retired in 2007.  Most recently, he had resided in Minot.

Orlynn was a former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church – Berthold and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church – Minot as well as the Elk's Lodge and Eagles Aerie.  He especially enjoyed fishing, helping his children with special projects and spending time with his grandchildren.

Orlynn is survived by his children: Shane (Debra McDonald) Locken of Minot, Travis (Lucia) Locken of Carson City NV and Kami Schauer of Farmington MN; grandchildren:  Tory (Misha) Locken, Devyn Schauer, Taylor (Ethan) Locken, Skyler Locken, Madison Locken, Tatumn Schauer and Agostino Locken; four great grandchildren: Peyton, Paisley, Moira and Lilly.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson: Tanner Schauer.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
