Olive Georgina Hill, 86, Minot, formerly of Douglas, ND, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 in a Minot Assisted Living Center.

Olive was born March 26, 1930 on the family farm near Minot, the daughter of George and Marguerite (Schellenbaum) Larson. She was raised on the farm South of Minot and educated at country schools in that area. She graduated from Minot High School in 1947 and worked for a short time for Bell Telephone and Bridgeman Creamery.

Olive was united in marriage to Duane Harold Hill on October 29, 1950 at Saron Lutheran Church, rural Minot. They made their home on the family farm in Hilton Township near Douglas where they raised their four children. They moved to Minot in 2003. Duane died October 14, 2008.

Olive was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. While living near Douglas, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active with the women's Circle group. She had also been a former member of Spring Lake Lutheran Church, where she had served as the Church Treasurer and on the Church Board until it merged with Trinity Lutheran. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbor's Homemaker's Club, served as a 4-H leader and on the Hilton Township Board as a clerk and Treasurer. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, knitting, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her loving family includes , children, Bonnie (Bob) Berntson, Minot, Becky (Ray) Hoverson, Harrisburg, SD, Brenda (Craig) Marschall, Windom, MN and Brandon (Robbin) Hill, Madison, GA; grandchildren: Teresa Hynson, Laura (Brad) Jacobson, Cameron Hoverson, Corey (Terra) Hoverson, Keely (Hank) Bowen & Katie Broach; great grandchildren, Ashley, Mikhaila, Olivia, and Nicholas Hynson; Owen and Haylie Jacobson, Alexis, Gabriel, Kylie and Tate Hoverson; Peyton and Bo Bowen; sisters, Luella Conine, Newnan, GA, Phyllis Bertsch, Williston, ND and Barbara (William) Jenson, Minot, ND; brothers, Donald Larson & David (Mary) Larson both of Minot and George 'Arnie' (Yvonne) Larson, Woodland, CA; Sister-in-law, Claire Larson, Minot.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; brother, Russell; brothers-in-law, James Conine & Joseph Bertsch; sister in law, Marjorie Larson and niece, Cheryl Ann Larson.

Funeral Service : Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, July 18, 2016 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Youth Fund or an organization of the donor's choice.
