OAKLEY INGEL ELVEN , 86, of Mohall died Friday Dec. 23, 2011 in a Minot hospital.
Oakley was born on August 20, 1925 in Coteau, ND to Ingel and Mildred (Hagen) Elven. He was raised in Coteau and Mohall where he attended school. Oakley enlisted in the Navy in 1942 at the age of 17. He proudly served his country in World War II. Following his honorable discharge he lived in Mohall and worked in construction and later as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Oakley enjoyed spending time at the Mouse River Park and was a member of the American Legion and volunteer fire and ambulance services all in Mohall, and served on the Mouse River Park board of directors.
Oakley is survived by his son, Jason and daughter, Tricia (Ross) Triplett both of Fargo, sister, Gloria Hansen of Mohall, two grandchildren Joshua and Ella Triplett, several nieces and nephews and stepsons: Brad and Bruce Kirby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service: Monday, December 26, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mohall Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
