Norman Rau, 71, Minot, died on August 13, 2016 in a Minot hospital.

Norman was reared on a farm south of Anamoose, ND in the Lincoln Valley area.

As a young adult he began his career in the food preparation industry serving as a chef at various restaurants including Jake's Spice n Spirit in Minot and the Sons of Norway Dining Room in Fargo.

Norman is survived by his brothers: Lloyd Rau of Max and Myron (Garnet) Rau of Kalamazoo, MI and sister-in-law: Ruby Rau of Minot.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin and Rose (Engel) Rau and brother: Gene Rau.

Memorial Book Signing: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Due to Norman's wishes, there will be a private family service.
