Nordis Nelson, 86, Velva formerly of Voltaire died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in a Garrison Hospital.

Nordis Loken was born on November 4, 1930 in McHenry County to Selmer and Florence (Ashley) Loken.

On September 13, 1952 Nordis married Norlen Nelson in the Lutheran Church in rural Turtle Lake, ND.

Nordis was a member of Hjerdal Lutheran Church.

Nordis' loving family includes children, Dennis (Celina) Nelson, New Town and Laurel Ironroad, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Autumn (James) Erasmus, Bismarck, Kim Ironroad, San Francisco, CA, David Ironroad, Ft. Collins, CO, Rob Ironroad, Valley City, ND and Amanda (Mike) Farrugia, Cabet, AR; great grandchild, Asher Erasmus; sister, Delores (Arlie) Holte, Eugene, OR and brother, Stuart (Barbara) Loken, St. Michael, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norlen, sister, Bonnie Tenborg, son in law, Robert Ironroad, Sr. and many aunts and uncles.

Graveside Service: Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
