Nelda Lou Mayo Jardine , 89, a Superior resident, passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2024 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN. She was born on November 29, 1934 in Rockwell City, IA, the daughter of Lynn and Ada (Lee) Jarvis.

She was an active member of Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church when living in Glenburn, ND and of Christ Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary in Superior, WI. Nelda was well known as an Avon Lady for many years when she lived in Glenburn, ND with her now deceased husband, Frank Mayo, Jr.

She loved caring for her flowers, crocheting, and working on numerous craft projects. Mom always had a jigsaw puzzle in progress (especially the 1000 piece ones). She was also an avid reader and was always in the middle of a novel. What mom loved most was taking care of her family. She will be dearly missed.

Nelda is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Jardine, Superior, WI; daughters, Laura (Jerald) Hjelmstad, Bismarck, ND, and Linda (Robert) Kjonaas, Bismarck, ND; sons, Randall Mayo, O'Fallon, IL, Daniel (Rose) Mayo, Bismarck, ND, and Douglas (Lisa) Mayo, Malvern, IA; step-daughter, Michelle Jardine, Ashland, WI; step-sons, Patrick (JoAnn) Jardine, Superior, WI, Russell (Crystal) Jardine, Auburn, IN, and Douglas (Tracey) Jardine, Cornucopia, WI; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sister, Carol Carnine, North Las Vegas, NV; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Frank Mayo, Jr.; granddaughter, Serena Mayo; sisters, Carlene Decker, Helen Herrig; and brothers, Don Jarvis, Larry Jarvis, and Lynn Jarvis, Jr.
