Nathan Charles Tickerhoof, 27, Minot died on Sunday in Bismarck from an apparent asthma attack while doing two things he loved: participating in the McQuade Softball tourney and camping with his friends and teammates.
Nathan was born on May 3, 1987 in the Edwards Air Force Base Hospital in California to Charles and Lori (Adams) Tickerhoof. He was reared and educated in Fairbanks, AK and at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota prior to moving to Minot in 2000. He graduated from Minot High School in 2005 and continued his education at the Minot Job Corps Center where he received specialized training in the culinary arts. Nathan was a "gypsy of jobs" with his most recent jobs being at the Blind Duck Lounge and LaQuinta Hotel.
Nathan was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot. He especially enjoyed softball, hunting, playing pool, bowling and hanging out with his many friends, but next to hunting with his grandpa, dad and brothers he loved playing softball, on as many teams as possible, the most. He may have been loud and outspoken and his mom could often be seen giving him the calm down/quiet down sign, but now Nathan doesn't have to listen because he can speak as loud as he wants, "We want to hear you". Nathan often wore his pink hat and socks in memory of his friend Anita Knutson. Our hearts are broken and there will forever be a hole, but we will never forget you Nathan. We love you with all our heart. Our pyramid is broken.. and Nate you were an important part of the base.
Nathan was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend and is survived by his parents: Lori Tickerhoof and Chuck Tickerhoof; brothers: Michael (Sara) Tickerhoof and Nicholas (Nikki Jo) Tickerhoof and maternal grandparents: Larry and Carol Adams all of Minot; paternal grandmother: Judy Tickerhoof of Orange Park FL; niece and nephews: Gracelynn Tickerhoof, Gavyn and Gabriel Tickerhoof and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Albert and Ruth Tickerhoof and great grandparents: Nick and Frances Giesinger, Mark and Ella Adams, Sterling and Nell Hoff and Paul and Elsie Tickerhoof.
