Obituary

Nancy Zumbo, 77, Minot, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in her home.

Nancy was born February 9, 1937, in Larimore, ND the daughter of William and Adis (Trinterud) Bates. She was raised Larimore, where she graduated with the class of 1955.

She moved to Minot following graduation and worked in retail. Nancy was once married to Floyd Kolobakken.

Nancy married Robert Zumbo on October 23, 1976, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. They called 13 states and three countries home during her husband's military career and employment with Boeing until settling to Minot in 1991.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot and did a variety of volunteering at the Norsk Hostfest and the Minot Visitor's Bureau. She was once very active in the Zion Lutheran Church, Minot and the Deering Lutheran Church of Deering, ND.

Nancy's hands were that of a skilled artist. She easily and beautifully mastered all that she attempted, especially in baking, cooking, gardening, sewing and needlework. Nancy was very adventurous. She loved kicking around in small towns, exploring the USA and countries abroad. Her home was accented by her love of collecting; large numbers of cookbooks, roosters and lovely glasswares displayed precisely.

Nancy had a beautiful, generous heart and was loved by all who met her. She happily showed her love in return. Nancy was truly a warm, caring, happy person, who was always eager to lend a hand. She is a child of God.

Her family includes loving husband of 37 years, Robert, Minot; children, Laurie Kolobakken, Fargo, Steven Kolobakken, Lisa (James) Rodgers, Lynelle Kolobakken all of Minot and Lynda Storer, Colorado Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Beverly Koch and Adis Rasmussen.
